School Committee Strategy in Improving the Quality of Educational Services

Abstract


This study aimed at determining the strategies and contributions of school committees in improving the quality of educational services. This research was carried out in SMA Negeri 3 Pulau Rimau. This research used descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected using interviews, observation, documentation and literature review. Data were analyzed using qualitative which include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results obtained indicate that 1) the contribution of the school committee in improving the quality of educational services through reforming the field of facilities and infrastructure, establishing relationships between schools and the community, and encouraging to improve the quality of human resources; 2) school committee maximize financial support, energy and mind support; 3) monitoring strategies carried out in control of decision making and educational planning in schools; 4) the school committee being a mediator of parents and the community aspirations by trying to identify the interests, needs, and complaints.
